IDEAS?

I was rereading the blogs and managed to get all the way back to this past December and the "ABC's of Christmas". The year before, I did the "5 Christmas Bears". I realize that I would like to do something this year but I have few ideas. Several have been mentioned to me but to be honest nothing has strung my fancy. For the few of you that read this, any ideas?

FATHER'S DAY

Today is Father's Day. I no longer have my father around and there are times when I miss him alot. He was someone I could always count on and who was always in my corner. There were times as a teenager and young woman that I fought hard to gain independence from him. It was easy to just let him do.... Eventually I became my own woman and I know that he respected that and because of that I was able to occasionally change his perspective.

FLAG DAY

Yesterday, June 14 was Flag Day. My father-in-law gave about a 1/2 talk on the origins etc of the American Flag to a group of seniors at his apartment complex. It was interesting although I knew alot about the flag. He opened the talk with asking three questions - "Do you know how many stripes are on the flag, how many stars and what is the configuration of stars?" The answer is 13 stripes, 50 stars and 6,5,6,5,6,5,6,5,6. I did not know the last one. The flag evolved from Great Britain's Union Jack and that flag was a combination of the England's St. George flag and Scotland's St. Andrew flag.

GARDENS

I love the way our gardens look this year. Right now everything is in bloom and it looks fabulous. I actually got outside and planted the some of the pots myself. The weather finally has perked up and I am enjoying the summer. We also finally sold the Sylvania house and what a load has been lifted from our shoulders.
