CLASS REUNION

Two weekends ago my husband had his 50th class reunion. Mine was in August but I did not go and have not been to any of them. His took an interesting twist. The football team he was on were league champions his sophomore and junior year. This was a feat not previously attained. They subsequently went on to win other league titles as well as a state title but their team was the first. He was asked to talk with the team prior to their Friday night game. He and other classmates from that year also spoke during the day that Friday to English classes of 8th graders and one senior class. They spoke on their careers, lives etc. The students were asked to bring questions to class and he was impressed by many of their questions. The reunion dinner was Saturday night and fairly well attended. Out of a class of around 230 or so about 60 classmates were at the reuinion. Forty two of them had already passed on. One person from the class had sent e-mails asking his classmates to provide information regarding their lives and careers. It has been very interesting hearing about their achievments. I know that my mother-in-law would have loved hearing about the day he spent in class with the 8th graders and what his classmates had done with their lives. I felt her presence and missed her. We will share this with my father-in-law and I know he will also enjoy it. The gamut of accomplishments ran from teacher now turned professional santa to a physician who was on the cutting edge of CT scans and feels as though he has read more CT scans than anyone. Very interesting stuff.
