I worked yesterday and had to watch the snow continuously fall during the day. It always makes me anxious as to how the roads are going to be. They were not the best and I was glad to get home late yesterday afternoon. I know that we all have pictures and I uploaded several from my back yard that I took this morning. I hope we see spring early. I am ready.

BLIZZARD DAY RECAP
Unfortunately the snow day ended. I really did laze around (I know-laze is not really a word). I did a load of laundry, read part of my book, watched a DVR'd show, hemmed a pair of slacks, took a nap and we met friends for dinner. Today it was back to work and I was there from 8:30am until 7:30pm tonight. It was a long day so I am glad that I had my nap!

BLIZZARD 2011 PART II
The good news is that while there was ice it was not the typical ice storm with layers of ice on wires and trees creating havoc. The other good news is that there is a Level 3 snow emergency in Lucas County so that means we are closed so I get to have a snow day. Yea!! It is a beautiful day as long as you can stay inside. I do not yet know what I am going to do with this "found" time. So far just a day to delight in. Here are a few pictures of the day so far.

BLIZZARD 2011 PART 1
While at work today, the talk was all about the upcoming storm. How much snow, how much ice will we get! I informed everyone that I would most likely not be in to work on Wednesday - I am an admitted wimp. It looks as though we will miss most of the snow, a mere 4-8 inches is expected. To be honest I was hoping for more. It appears though that we are going to be smack dab in the middle of the ice. That is worse than the snow. I fully expect to be without power tomorrow but am hoping for the the best. It is barely vi sable across the lake though that is probably due to the blowing snow rather than the falling snow. Pictures will be posted in the am.

COLD!!!!
There is really no other description necessary. It is just plain cold. At least today the sun is full and the backyard is pretty. I was watching the birds come in and feed this morning. I did see a hairy woodpecker, female cardinal and possibly a black-capped chickadee. Friday night we drove to our son's house and spent the night so we could make our grandson's 10am basketball game. They lost but it was close (1 point). They were flat the first quarter but so was the other team. The first quarter ended 0-2. My granddaughter has a friend (the friend is 3 but very social) and they played with baby dolls during the game. Last night we were at a friend's house for a pool party. While teams of 2 shot pool the rest of us played Left, Right, Center and feasted on tacos, rice, tamales and assorted appetizers. it was a great gathering and fun to see everyone. This week starts my busy time and I am not looking forward to it at all. Oh well, I will have to have an attitude adjustment to get through it.
