TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY HILTON HEAD DAY 5 & 6

Tuesday the four of us played golf.  First though Rocky made us a breakfast of sausage and gravy.  It is served with a slice of tomato.  Then I walked the beach before golf.   I thought that I liked the course that we were going to play.  I remembered one hole that was gimmicky but OH NO!  there were a bunch of holes that I did not like.  I told JR that the next time someone suggests this course shoot me if I say yes.  The round of golf was ok but nothing to write glowing reports about in this blog.  I have included not only the guys warming up on the range, Rocky's biscuit and gravy and pictures of the surf but a visitor at one of the holes (or are we the visitors?)

.  Wednesday was rainy all day and the guys went shopping at golf stores while I read and Belinda worked.

MONDAY HILTON HEAD DAY 3

The weather today was going to be spectacular.  Rocky, Belinda, John and another friend, Dean were going to go to play golf.  I was going to do some shopping and meet Dean's wife Lil-Mar for lunch at Charlie L'Etoile.  First however, I went for a walk on the beach.  I spotted numerous Cannonball Jellyfish.  The cluster of oral arms extend out around the mouth are a means of propulsion and they aid in catching prey.  They are very prominent along North America's eastern seaboard and can be found as far south as Brazil.  The cannonballs are not necessarily poisonous but their toxin can causes irregular heart rhythms  as well as causing redness and swelling of the eyes if contact is made.  I have included some pictures of the cannonball as well as some birds and a picture of the restaurant where we had lunch.

SUNDAY DAY 2 HILTON HEAD

Rocky and Belinda as noted had driven into Hilton Head through a hurricane like rain storm.  No winds just torrential rain.  Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day.  The temperatures were in the mid-80's and full sun.  My kind of day.  We had decided not to really do anything.  It was actually John and my 46th wedding anniversary.  We all had lunch at a favorite beach bar.  Sea Pines Beach Club had undergone a huge transformation since we had been there 2 years ago.  It was a full scale trendy restaurant.  John was disappointed.  He thought that it had lost its beachy feeling but I liked it.  We shared a plate of peel and eat shrimp and then John and I each had a small bowl seafood stew.  It was really a she crab soup.  It was very good.  I forgot to take a picture but the crab was on top on one side and on another were the carrots.  We went shopping for Rocky to get some beach shoes and then just relaxed around the pool or the guys watched golf.  For our anniversary dinner we went to Bonefish Grill.  It is another of my favorite places and I had the crab and corn chowder and coconut shrimp.  For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake.

HILTON HEAD DAY 1

We again made our annual trek to Hilton Head.  To be honest though, we did miss it last year do to a medical problem but we were gung ho this year.  We had good friends, Rocky and Belinda joining us for the week and we were looking forward to it.  We left on Friday the 24th.  Due to horrid construction on I-75 we decided to take the Ohio Turnpike.  It seemed shorter and friends had just gone that way.  WRONG choice.  There was construction and they were rerouting everyone OFF the turnpike.  It costs us an hour minimum.  We stayed the night at a Fairfield.  The next day we only had about a 4 hour drive.  It did rain some of the way but cleared when we arrived in Hilton Head.  Our first stop was the Tommy Bahama store at the Outlet Park.  We then went to a golf store and the Harry and David outlet.  We then had lunch at a favorite lunch place, The French Bakery.  I am including some pictures.

PASSINGS

The computer has been fixed.  There were no real virus issues but a couple pieces of software were running continuously and that was slowing the whole system.  So I am now up and running.
