I am hoping that this will publish. I have not been able to do so since the end of the tax season due to problems with blogspot. The kids came up for Easter and JR's dad joined us for a great brunch at the club. The Rabbitt Wrangler and Miss Emma seemed to enjoy the children's bufffet table and Dick enjoyed the buffet as well. It seemed to beat one or two choices where he lives. This past Thursday I went down for a 4th grade recorder concert. It was brief (less than 1/2 hour) but actually quite good. My grandson seemed to enjoy the experience. Granted he stood next to friends but he was smiling through the entire concert. I stayed the night and watched the royal wedding the next morning. I then played various Wii games with Miss Emma including Project Runway. After dropping her off at school I headed home.
I am in the process of spring closet clean-out and was progressing nicely but hit a snag just prior to leaving on Thursday when "what to my wondering eyes should appear" but ANTS. I took everything off the shelves and left the mess for JR. We are still checking for the little monsters but they are diminishing in numbers. Now I not only have to put the closet back together but continue on my quest to reduce my clothing numbers. I have already parted with 31 tops and plan on continuing. Hopefully this will now publish.

HURRAH!!
I have been trying to publish since last week. I initially wrote that it was great that the tax season was over. I was tired both physically and mentally. I am delighted to be done with it. Now I can get

ANOTHER SIGN OF SPRING
One sure sign of spring is the migration of ducks. Since we are on a lake we do get to see some neat ones come through. This morning I was standing on the deck taking pictures of Scaups. The last few days we had ruddy ducks come through and we have seen a few buffleheads. Granted even with my new camera the pictures are not real close but I am going to upload a few to give you a glimpse of them.

SPRING IS HERE?!
It appears that maybe spring has arrived. No I am not talking about the sunshine that we have had (more than two days in a row is a treat) nor am I talking about the migrating ducks. JR is back to playing golf. Granted it is only 9 holes. I feel that both the air temperature and the fact that he has not played since early November are taking their toll. It was refreshing to hear that the Saturday group (at least most) were back together and played the 9 holes with a hot dog for lunch.
Thursday was Miss Emma's birthday and I am afraid that we may have to rethink the commitment to celebrating on the anniversary of her actual birth day. To say that chaos reigned is being conservative. First the boys (they watch one child after school) played ball in the living room and knocked over a hot wax scent thing and purple wax landed on the carpet, wall, lamp and table. Mom was great. I would have grounded both boys for life (you realize that one is not even in the family) and sent them to different rooms. The rabbit wrangler did decide to make an exit and read in his room. Miss Em was showing her great-grandfather her volcano project and dumped some sort of blue food colored liquid on the FM carpet. While mom worked on the LV carpet, JR and I worked on the FM carpet. Add a baseball scrimmage that both the RW and dad were at, dinner for the remaining 5 and late gift opening and you understand why we did not get home until midnight. I had to work the next day. While I would like to stay committed to the celebration choice, it might not be fair to the family.

Sunday, March 20, 2011
It has been two weeks since I last posted anything. To be honest there has been nothing to post. The first part of March has been dreary, dull, snowy and miserable. Add to that working a lot, no vacations, no visiting with grandchildren and pretty much nothing else and you can see why no postings. Today is the first day of spring and with spring comes hope. Hope for better weather and in a month my 2011 working time with be over. I tried to get tickets to the Tim McGraw concert coming this May. Unfortunately I tried while at work and with the receptionist calling in sick, that left two of us to answer phones, check in clients and prepare returns. Needless to say I way unable to buy the tickets and it completely bummed me out for the next few days. I am still angry that I cannot go but that fits into the rotten March I have had. We were able to be with the our son and our grandchildren on Friday. Our daughter-in-law was taking a well-deserved break with her mother and aunt for a four day get-a-way. We were the relief for Friday. Miss Emma and I baked brownies. She cracked the egg, measured the water and oil, mix the batter, put in the chocolate and poured it into the pan. She is getting ready for her 4-H project. "Bob" had school all day and baseball practice for 2 hours Friday night so we were not able to spend lots of time with him but it was so good to see him. It definetely boosted my morale and hopefully this good feeling will stay with me for awhile.
