??????
I am struggling with the purpose of the blog. It has been for the most part random ramblings of my mind. Well that can be boring and devoid of direction. I love taking pictures but within the confines of my small environment, I seem to have taken many and new opportunities have not appeared. I will continue to try to find a common link but for now I will continue with my ramblings. Sorry.

SOCCER
This past weekend my granddaughter had a soccer tournament. This was actually fairly close to us and so we went over for the first game on Saturday. I would have loved to go to the second game but we were also dog sitting their dogs so we had to drive back to let them out etc. They won all three regular tournament games and were in the semifinals. I drove over to see that game while JR stayed at home with the dogs. Unfortunately they lost but they played well. I then drove back, we packed the dogs in the car and drove to my father-in-law's. The kids drove from the tournament to his house (it was a more direct route back home) and we gave them the dogs back. So now we are back to normal. I have an easy week so I best get fall cleaning and organizing finished.

CLASS REUNION
Two weekends ago my husband had his 50th class reunion. Mine was in August but I did not go and have not been to any of them. His took an interesting twist. The football team he was on were league champions his sophomore and junior year. This was a feat not previously attained. They subsequently went on to win other league titles as well as a state title but their team was the first. He was asked to talk with the team prior to their Friday night game. He and other classmates from that year also spoke during the day that Friday to English classes of 8th graders and one senior class. They spoke on their careers, lives etc. The students were asked to bring questions to class and he was impressed by many of their questions. The reunion dinner was Saturday night and fairly well attended. Out of a class of around 230 or so about 60 classmates were at the reuinion. Forty two of them had already passed on. One person from the class had sent e-mails asking his classmates to provide information regarding their lives and careers. It has been very interesting hearing about their achievments. I know that my mother-in-law would have loved hearing about the day he spent in class with the 8th graders and what his classmates had done with their lives. I felt her presence and missed her. We will share this with my father-in-law and I know he will also enjoy it. The gamut of accomplishments ran from teacher now turned professional santa to a physician who was on the cutting edge of CT scans and feels as though he has read more CT scans than anyone. Very interesting stuff.

It has been ages since my last post. Much has been going on in my life and while many friends and family knew about it, I chose not to make it public on the internet. I will be suprised if anyone is still reading this. It is Labor Day today and I know that it is still summer but with kids in school and September - May activites starting back up it feels as though summer is slipping away. It is truly my most favorite season. The carefree schedule, warm weather and long days make it a special time of the year. Fall is ok through the first two weeks of October but then the leaves fall and the days become cloudy, gray and cold therefore becoming a harbinger of (ugh) winter. So enjoy every single day of warmth and sunshine. It leaves us too soon.
